Internship and Employment
Heart True offers supervision, graduate internship, and employment opportunities for professional counseling students and post-graduate clinicians pursuing LMHC licensure, led by Ingrid Pipes, LMHC-D. We believe therapists learn best when they have room to be curious, make mistakes, develop their own clinical voice, and pursue the areas of this work that genuinely interest them.
Our training model intentionally limits clinical hours to reduce burnout and protect space for learning, while providing extensive individual supervision, access to group consultation, and connection with a community of experienced therapists. We want to help emerging counselors discover what kind of therapist they want to become by giving them the education, support, and experience to get there.

Grad Students
I offer anxiety-free mock sessions with detailed feedback. This service also provides you with Feminist theory approaches to intake sessions and rapport building.
I can offer help building your resume for internship or advice on how to discuss a concern with your supervisor. Together, we can talk it through.
New Professionals

Professional Development
For those who are interested in growing their practice or their indirect work and want to honor a multicultural approach or who want to nurture a HAES-informed practice, we can create a plan together.
Doing the "work" isn't only fancy copy and a friendly face; one must understand the importance and impact of putting human-first values at the forefront of your work.
The Capital Region Counselor Break Room is a gathering space for local therapists to step out of the clinical role and connect with the people who understand this work. It’s a casual, welcoming place to build relationships, exchange ideas, talk shop, and find community without the pressure of formal networking. We believe therapists do better work when they have meaningful connections with other clinicians. These events are held once a season and are open to all students and licensees that do direct therapeutic services.
