HI, I'M INGRID

Let's embrace an empowering space together.

I am a licensed mental health counselor rooted in Narrative therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT,)  and Internal Family Systems (IFS) and trained in EMDR. I love working with both individuals and relationships. My therapy approach is eclectic, and I often borrow from several therapy theories because we may need different support for the many different moments of exploration in our lives.

I provide feminist-oriented, relational care. Honoring intersecting identities and acknowledging the experiences we hold is an integral part of the therapeutic process.  I am a neurodivergent person who uses the same therapeutic theories on myself that I do with clients. We contain multitudes and it's my belief that naming the parts that make up who we are help us understand that it's never only one thing.

In our sessions, we will often discuss learning about your core values. My strongest value is community. Being a therapist is a role I am honored to hold in someone's community. Through any rupture, challenge, or difficult topic: my goal is to respect and protect our relationship by upholding the ethics and beauty of this role. â€‹â€‹â€‹

-Audre Lorde

Understanding and being aware of our differences as well as celebrating our shared identities is support for our healing. Identities I honor in myself are:

  • Queer

  • Fat

  • Neurodivergent

  • Elder Emo

Elder Emo Receipt

Before becoming a therapist, I was a licensed cosmetologist, a fashion copywriter, and a published essayist. I've chosen therapeutic approaches that speak to these parts of myself so I can work with others to rewrite their stories and become the person they want to be. These identities have been protective factors in my own growth and it is fulfilling to share those skills with others.
